Weaning

Today I cut out Hadley's second to last feeding - the one at supper time. Hadley was clingy and wanted to nurse, so I distracted her with food. She did fine once I fed her something. I'll continue the last feeding (early morning) until this weekend. I plan on Sunday for our last nursing session, that way I can be home and have time to enjoy it. (also in case I cry buckets)

I am very excited to be nearing the end of breastfeeding, but I am also sad to think she and I will not have that time set aside each day for snuggling. She is getting so big and she is always too busy playing to be interested in snuggling any other time. I hope she misses the nursing just enough to snuggle her mommy a couple of times a day.

Today we had our benefits fair at work. I picked up all the information about insurance. Mine will cover 6 IUIs per attempted pregnancy, so it is nice to know that I start over with a fresh 6. Ben's covers 6 per lifetime. We were lucky and got pregnant with Hadley on our first IUI last time. I had both insurances, though, so with Ben's insurance we only have 5 tries left. I have to spend some time this weekend to decide if it is best to have two insurances again or not.

Once I am done with breastfeeding, I will start on Metformin. It should regulate my hormone levels and help me lose those last 10 lbs of baby weight. (Hopefully ending nursing will help me lose some weight also). If all goes well, my cycle will arrive. If it doesn't after 8 weeks, they will have to induce it. It will be a long 8 weeks, but at least I'll be busy with the holidays (and Hadley).
